Pipedrive is a paid, per-seat sales CRM with no free plan. Pick Lite at $24 a month per seat if your email can stay in your inbox; pick Growth at $49 a month per seat the day it can’t. Three people pay $72 a month on Lite or $147 a month on Growth. Every plan has a 14-day trial with no card.

Which plan should a one to five person business pick?
Lite, unless your follow-ups already live in your email and you keep losing them there. Lite gives you deals in stages, contacts, calendar, and a few reports, and for a team that sells from a visible pipeline that is the whole job. One person pays $24 a month, three pay $72 a month, five pay $120 a month, billed monthly.
Growth is the plan that joins the CRM and the mailbox: full email sync with tracking, automations, and nurturing sequences are Growth features, not Lite features. That costs $49 a month for one seat, $147 a month for three, and $245 a month for five. The difference between Lite and Growth at three seats is the price of the follow-ups you’d otherwise miss; if you’re not missing any, keep the money.
Say you run a three-person marketing consultancy: two of you sell, one delivers, and every proposal starts as an email thread. The pipeline alone is Lite at $72 a month. The first month you lose a prospect because a reply sat unanswered in the delivering partner’s inbox, Growth at $147 a month is the fix, and you’ll know it’s worth the difference because you’ll have the lost proposal to measure it against. Premium adds lead routing to the right reps, custom scoring, and shared team inboxes; Ultimate adds account security rules and a sandbox for testing setups. Those are tools for a sales team with a manager to run, not for three people.
What moves you up a plan?
Email, more than anything else. Lite has no mailbox sync and no automations, so the first time you want Pipedrive to send a follow-up for you, or to show a deal’s email history without you pasting it in, you’re looking at Growth.
The published caps won’t be what moves you. The leads and deals cap is set per company and scales with your seat count, so a team this size is nowhere near it. The custom-fields cap is also per company, and only a team that builds a long intake form will meet the Lite figure early. Phone support starts at Premium; on Lite and Growth you use the written channels, which is fine for most owners and worth knowing before you choose.
Skip Pipedrive if
- You want a free plan. There isn’t one. When a free CRM plan is enough compares the free plans in this guide and what ends each.
- You’re one person who needs reminders, not a pipeline. A free plan or a disciplined sheet does that job: see do you need a CRM if you’re the only person selling?
- You want the lowest bill at three to five seats and don’t need email in the CRM. The lowest paid bill at three people in this guide is Bigin Express (by Zoho) at $27 a month; see cost by team size.
- You want email marketing or project tracking in the same tool. Campaigns (email marketing) is a paid add-on on every plan, and Projects is a paid add-on below Premium. Do you need a full CRM, or just a way to track leads? draws that line.

Every plan is per seat, and Pipedrive publishes no cap on how many seats you can add, so the bill is seats times the plan price and nothing else until you add an add-on.
Costs that are easy to miss
- The yearly rate comes first. The pricing page opens on annual billing, labeled “Save up to 42%”, so the first figure you see is the yearly rate shown per month. Lite is $14 a month per seat that way and $24 a month billed monthly. The lower figure is a year’s commitment.
- Every login is a seat. The person who only checks the pipeline on Fridays pays the same as the person who lives in it. Give that person a weekly summary instead of a login.
- Add-ons are separate on the plans a small team picks. On Lite and Growth, LeadBooster (lead capture), Projects, Smart Docs (documents and e-signatures), Campaigns (email marketing), and Web Visitors are all paid add-ons. Premium and Ultimate include LeadBooster, Projects, and Smart Docs; Campaigns and Web Visitors stay paid add-ons on every plan. If one of them is the reason you want Pipedrive, price it before you start the trial.
The first-year cost page shows what twelve billed months come to for each CRM in this guide.
Our view
Pipedrive is the right CRM for a small team that sells from a pipeline and wants a tool that does that one job without a marketing suite attached. Our position: start on Lite, pay monthly, and move to Growth only when a lost follow-up proves you need the mailbox inside the CRM. What you give up by choosing Pipedrive is a free tier, so the day you start is the day you pay, and at three seats on Lite you pay $72 a month for something two other tools in this guide would do free for a team of three. If a free plan fits you today, take it and come back when it ends; if you’ve already outgrown free, Pipedrive is a clean next step.
Your next step
Start the 14-day trial on Lite, not Growth, so the month after the trial looks like the month you tested. Import your lead sheet on day one, set a next action on every open deal, and connect one inbox only if you find you need it before the trial ends. Start a Pipedrive trial.
