Owner Field Guide is built to collect as little as possible. It sets no cookies, has no accounts, and does not sell or share personal information.

What this site collects
- No accounts, logins, or profiles.
- No cookies, and nothing stored in your browser.
- No analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts on its pages.
- The messages you choose to send us by email.
- An anonymous count of clicks on links to software vendors, described below.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Those logs are handled by Cloudflare, not stored by us.
Analytics
The site uses no analytics service. Its pages carry no analytics or tracking scripts, so your visits are not profiled or followed from page to page.
Email you send us
If you write to hello@ownerfieldguide.com, we receive your email address, any name your email program shows, and your message. We use them only to read and answer you. We don't add your address to any mailing list.
Contact form
The form on the contact page is not connected yet, so it sends and stores nothing. Until it is, please use email. Before it is connected, this policy will be updated to name the service that delivers its messages.
Newsletter
The newsletter is not open yet. Its signup form is switched off and collects nothing. Before it opens, this policy will be updated to name the service that stores subscriber addresses, and every issue will include a way to unsubscribe.
Links to vendors and click logging
Links to software vendors pass through a redirect on this site so that clicks can be counted. For each click the site records the time, the page and position the link was on, the vendor, the country, whether the device was a phone or a computer, and signals used to tell people from automated traffic, such as the network operator.
The click log holds no personal data. It does not store IP addresses, full browser details, cookies, or any identifier that could single out a visitor. To spot bursts of automated clicks, the redirect briefly keeps a scrambled (salted and hashed) form of the network address in memory; it is never written to the log.
Once you reach a vendor's site, the vendor's own privacy policy applies. If a link is an affiliate link, the vendor or its affiliate network may set a cookie in your browser to credit a signup to us. That cookie is set and controlled by the vendor, not by this site. The affiliate disclosure shows which vendors, if any, we have an affiliate relationship with.
Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
Children
This site is written for business owners and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date at the top. Any new service that would handle your information, such as a contact form or newsletter provider, will be named here before it is switched on.
