For software vendors

If your product is covered on Owner Field Guide, or you think it should be, this page explains how the site works and how to reach us.

Who reads the site

Readers are owners of small businesses who still do their own admin. Most run a business of one to ten people with no dedicated office, finance, or IT person. They come to find out what a tool costs at their size, whether they need it yet, and whether switching is worth it.

How software is compared

Comparisons are built from your public information: pricing pages, plan pages, help centers, terms, changelogs, and app-store listings. Each figure is stored with its source and the date it was checked, and it is re-checked on a 60-day cycle. The site shows list price and promotional price separately and uses US plan names. The full method is on the About page.

How to send a pricing correction

If a price, plan name, or limit on the site is wrong or out of date, please tell us. A correction needs:

  1. The page on Owner Field Guide where the figure appears.
  2. The correct figure.
  3. A link to the public page on your site that shows it.

Corrections are checked against the public page you link to. Figures that cannot be confirmed on a public page are not published. Send corrections through the contact page or by email: hello@ownerfieldguide.com

What is not for sale

Owner Field Guide does not accept payment for placement or for reviews. Inclusion, order, and conclusions cannot be bought, and a partner program does not change how a product is described. Products without a partner program are covered on the same terms. The affiliate disclosure explains how affiliate links work on the site.
